DANIEL VASQUEZ V - CAS
Daniel Vasquez V. CAS is a Re-recording Mixer and Supervising Sound Editor for film and television, whose career began in the United Kingdom, got established back in his home country, Colombia; and now also based in Los Angeles, working internationally. He studied recording arts and holds a master’s degree in audio post-production. Daniel has more than 18 years of experience working in television and film across more than 15 countries, including the United States, Mexico, Spain, and the United Kingdom, among others. He has a creative mindset and strong technical skills that allow him to collaborate as a storyteller through sound, conveying narrative and evoking emotions.
Daniel has won the Colombian Academy Award for Best Sound in 2024 & 2022, holds ten more nominations for the Macondo Award, and was the Mixer of 2023 Latin Grammy's Best Long Musical Video.
He was co-creator of SoundNode in England and co-founder of Clap Studios in Colombia, both sound post- production facilities.
Daniel currently represents the sound branch on the Board of Directors of the Colombian Film Academy, and is a member of the Cinema Audio Society, the Television Academy and has also worked as a teacher, judge and guest lecturer at universities, academic institutions, and for various events. Member of MPEG Local 700 IATSE.
